The inauguration ceremony was hosted by Professor Nian Heng from the College of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University. Representatives from both sides, including Huang Ying, Deputy Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University, and Li Hongbiao, Deputy General Manager of KeLiang, jointly witnessed the event.
In his speech, Deputy General Manager Li Hongbiao pointed out that the large-scale integration of renewable energy into the grid brings not only new problems and challenges for participants in the energy and power industry but also unprecedented development opportunities. Under these new circumstances, KeLiang and the College of Electrical Engineering of Zhejiang University have jointly established the "Joint Laboratory for Renewable Energy Grid Integration Stability Technology" to share responsibilities, jointly conduct power system stability analysis, tackle technical challenges such as low inertia and wide-band oscillations induced by renewable energy grid integration, and cultivate innovative and application-oriented technical talents. This is the right path for both sides to pursue "long-term vision" and implement "long-lasting strategies," and it holds significant practical importance for the technological upgrading of the global energy and power industry and the successful realization of China's "dual carbon" strategic goals.
During the meeting, Director Shi Linlong reported and shared KeLiang’s recent R&D achievements and typical engineering application cases in the field of new-type power system modeling and simulation technology, fully demonstrating the company's technological innovation strength and application development capability. Researcher Yang Lei systematically introduced the core construction goals and specific development plans of the joint laboratory, clearly outlining its highly promising development prospects.
In her concluding remarks, Deputy Dean Huang Ying emphasized that the establishment of the joint laboratory by the College of Electrical Engineering of Zhejiang University and KeLiang marks a transition from short-term, point-to-point project collaboration to a long-term, stable, and systematic phase of cooperation. She expressed the hope that both sides would organically integrate their respective advantageous resources, fully unleash their innovative vitality, and solidly strengthen the joint laboratory, effectively promoting the organic connection of the education chain, talent chain, research chain with the industry chain and innovation chain, achieving a virtuous cycle of industry-academia-research-application, actively advancing the rapid industrialization of advanced scientific research achievements, enhancing the cultivation of high-level, innovative technical talents, and empowering the high-quality development of the national new energy industry.
