OP5700 Simulator
Overview

The OP5700 is equipped with up to 32 high-performance Intel® Xeon® E5 processor cores and Xilinx® Virtex®-7 FPGA boards, running the RedHatLinux real-time operating system. It achieves a minimum real-time simulation step size of 10 μs for CPU-based simulations and 100 ns for FPGA-based simulations. The onboard expansion slots can accommodate up to 8 analog or digital I/O boards, supporting 128 analog channels or 256 digital channels for high-speed I/O, along with 16 high-speed SFP fiber-optic communication ports. This configuration meets the demanding requirements of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) development.

The OP5700 utilizes an Intel architecture to enable multiprocessor, multi-core distributed parallel computation via a shared-memory approach, meeting desktop-level large-scale simulation requirements. Leveraging high-speed PCIe bus technology (40 Gbit/s), it supports the interconnection of multiple OP5700 units for real-time simulation of ultra-large-scale system models. Additionally, the product offers robust interface expandability, allowing integration of diverse third-party I/O or communication boards through the PCIe bus. This facilitates the extension of communication interfaces such as CAN, ModBus, FlexRay, LIN, ARINC-429, and MIL-STD-1553.

Features

■ Strong FPGA simulation capability

The OP5700 simulator integrates a high-performance Xilinx@Virtex@7485T FPGA board (including 485,760 logic cells and 2,800 DSP slices), providing powerful computing performance. The development of FPGA simulation models can be achieved using the RT-LABeHS solver or the Vivado toolbox. The sub-microsecond simulation step size of FPGA also greatly improves the accuracy of simulation.

■ Convenient Expandability

When the simulation capability or I/O capacity of a single OP5700 unit falls short of experimental requirements, multiple simulators or I/O expansion chassis can be interconnected via the PCIe bus. This enables the scaling of simulation resources and I/O quantity, theoretically supporting hundreds of CPU cores and tens of thousands of I/O points.
